TPS highlights COVID-19 safety precautions for proms

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Ball season is in full swing, and Topeka public schools are keen to keep parents informed about the COVID-19 safety precautions they will be taking at proms in the region.

Topeka Public Schools have a number of security measures in place to ensure the safety of students and staff during ball season. He said the guidelines for each ball are as follows:

Saturday May 1, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Topeka West High School, indoor and outdoor event. Tickets cost $ 10 per person.

  • Masks must be worn at all times.
  • Temperatures will be taken on arrival and hand sanitizer will be provided.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the school.
  • Disinfection will be carried out for all carnival activities used. The ability to clean will determine if the activity is included.

Saturday May 15, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., Topeka Zoo, indoor event. Tickets cost $ 10 per person.

  • Masks must be worn at all times.
  • Temperatures will be taken on arrival and hand sanitizer will be provided.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the zoo.
  • Food provided for the event will be individually wrapped.
  • The necessary disinfection will be carried out for all carnival activities used. The ability to clean will determine if the activity is included.

Saturday, May 15, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., Evergy Plaza, outdoor event. Tickets cost $ 10 per person.

  • Masks must be worn at all times.
  • Temperatures will be taken on arrival and hand sanitizer will be provided.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the site.
  • Food provided during the event will be individually wrapped.
  • The necessary disinfection will take place for all carnival activities used. The ability to clean will determine if the activity is included.
