Letter to Security Officers: Do What You Can to Keep Your League Safe and Ready to Play

Dear Security Officers:

I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. As information continues to become available regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, we strive to continue to provide guidance and support to you as you help oversee the health and safety of members and the community. of your league. Here are some things we suggest you do while practicing social distancing:

  • Contact families and volunteers in your league to see how they are doing. Send a short email and offer some ideas to keep your spirits up during this difficult time. Encourage them to play ball in the garden or send a #LLPepTalk.
  • Submit your security plan as soon as possible if you haven’t already. Now is a good time to think about how you can improve your league’s safety procedures. Plans must be submitted through the Little League® Data Center. Contact Christina Taddeo, at: ctaddeo@littleleague.org with your questions.
  • Discuss with your board of directors ways to promote safety in your league. Host a poster contest for kids in your league to think about safety issues.

While there are many tasks you can complete to prepare to resume your league activities, we urge you to continue to follow the information available through the CDC and your local authorities.
